Sit Tibi Terra Levis/Introspective (1990/1991)

Beautiful ambient sounds and textures which provide a thought provoking atmosphere. Very mysterious moods which shifts throughtout the different tracks presented on this cd.If you enjoy the ambient work by artist such as Vidna Obmana and Zoviet France, then you'll most likely groove on this as well. A subtle power and features some excellent aural work.

This is right up there as one of my favorite cassettes (later reprint on cd) that was sent in for review.
If you're into anything that Nocturnal Emissions have done lately, or the Zamia Lehmanni album by SPK, then you won't go wrong with this. In fact I've listened to this tape more often over the last few month than anything else. One of those tapes that is good for going into relaxing states. This is worth the trouble to find.

"Sit Tibi Terra Levis", "que la terre te soit légére": inscription tumulaire fréquemment usitée sur de vénérables tombeaux. Le titre de cette cassette (reprint en cd) convient bien a' la musique d'Alio Die. Filamenteuse, éthérée, vaporeuse,pour ne pas dire planante,elle évoque des climats reposants d'une simplicité déconcertante. Alio Die alias Stefano Musso est un minimaliste qui ne s'encombre pas de soucis stylistiques. Il meuble l'air de sonorités discrétes sans tomber dans la trappe new age. Il est bien trop réservé pour ca!

...during his visit in may 1993 we suggested Stefano to reissue his first two cassette releases on CD format... he did it!! Now you can share our enthusiasm about this spiritual atmospheric music. It is an haunting album of sampled organics, treated natural sounds, deep entrancing Eno-like ambiences, music that harkens from a ritualistic viewpoint.
